Less is more

The only point of creating any kind of content is to be consumed.

I look at my first podcasts and see that I make a lot of unnecessary noises. I am nervous. I say too many words.

I look at my first texts and see that I have too many words. A 1,000-word article could be condensed into a 150-word blog post.

There’s no shortage of content. But we have a shortage of meaning.

The better you get at content creation, the more you see that:

The only point of creating any kind of content is to be consumed.

Your job – as a creator – is to help your audience do so with ease.

The only point of writing anything is to be read. The only point of saying anything on a podcast is to be understood.

Extra words and sounds are unnecessary. They add nothing.

Write less. Speak slower. Create less.

But give more.

If you find a way to give lots of value and meaning through shorter podcasts and texts, your content will be irresistible.

Just look at Seth Godin. His blog posts are less than 200 words.
