Who does the future belong to?
The people who rush and hesitate and are always distracted?
The writers, who create a lot of noise instead of writing something meaningful?
The entrepreneurs, who chase the hype and the latest trend?
Or the artist, who is so insecure, they can’t show their unique tastes to the world?
If you ask me, I’ll say the future belongs to those who are able to concentrate on a creative task for many hours at a time.
It’s so simple, yet so difficult. Social media, other people, society, everything is an enemy in the fight for our attention.
It’s an ability so rare, it will soon separate the world into two parts: the deliberate and the mindless.
The good news is that the ability to focus is a skill.
And like any skill, it can be trained with practice. Daily, deliberate, practice.
If you want to build the future – either of the world or your own – this is what you need.
